Our Story

Turtle Doves is a British design and manufacturing company specialising in using post-consumer cashmere jumpers to create beautiful new garments and accessories. We feel passionate about how we use the earth’s resources to sustain a circular process of manufacturing. All our products are 100% recycled and given a new lease of life.

Turtle Doves was born in December 2009 when Kate Holbrook dreamt up the design for a unique pair of fingerless gloves that can be slipped off the thumb to become wrist warmers. Having made some for friends, who really liked them, she tested the idea at a local school fair. To her delight, the fledgling Turtle Doves flew off the shelves. She quickly copyrighted the design and before we knew it, Turtle Doves had two regular markets in Shrewsbury and lots of repeat customers.

It was at this point that we realised the product needed a name, Graham Holbrook came up with a memorable name ‘Turtle Doves' because it’s Cockney rhyming slang for gloves. The rest is history… We are a growing company with over 200 employees and an ever-evolving and proactive sustainability ethos.
